1. Navigate to POINTMAN's website. Go to Support & Serivce -> Download -> Drivers.

 

 

2. Click the post with '[POINTMAN] Driver + CardPrinter X-Card Designer Version X.X.X.

 

 

3. Click 'Link' to download.

 

 

1. Download the Nuvia Firmware Download Tool and Nuvia Firmware.

 

 

2. Update the printer’s firmware using the download tool and latest firmware available on the website.

2. Navigate to Consumables.

 

 

1. Navigate to : Settings -> POINTMAN Card Printer Printing Preferences -> 'Control' tab -> click “get” button to retrieve (1)serial number, (2)firmware version, (3)MAC Address and (4)module installed in the printer.

 

 

2. Navigate to : Settings -> POINTMAN Card Printer Printing Preferences -> 'About' tab to retrieve current DLL and driver version.

How to use cleaning items with NUVIA

If there is a white margin on both ends of the card, you can reduce the difference in the following ways.

- The white margin decreases as the value of -X Start or X End approaches 0.

- Y as the number of offset decreases, the image goes down from the top of the Y side to the bottom

*Y Offset maximum range: 32

 

A too high or low image position can create wrinkle(s) on the edge(s).

- A low X value may cut the ribbon.

- X Start value is suggested to adjust only 1-2 points.

In other words, the closer to X Start or X End 0, the ribbon may break.

 

Default Value

X Start: 11-14

Y Start: 7-8

Y Offset: 15-18

 

Here is how to set the card margin:

 

1. Control tab -> Advanced Setting

2. When the 'Warning!!!' appears, click Confirm.

3. You can adjust the value in Card Margin Setting.

If you find a horizontal line on the printed card as shown below, you need to replace Thermal Print Head(TPH) 

 

 

Here is how to replace the TPH:

1. After removing the No.1 screw shown in the photo, push up both sides.

2. Remove the No.1 TPH and No.2 groundig cables shown in the photo and remove the TPH Ass'y.

3. Insert the No.1 grounding cable into the new TPH Ass'y, and after installing the No.2 cable, push in the part marked No.3 to install it.

4. Tighten Screw No.1 as shown in the photo.

 

 

After replacing the TPH, you must set the TPH resistance value.

Here is how to set it:

1. Right-click on 'Card Printer' in No.1 and then click 'printing preferences' in No.2

2. Click No.1 'Control' and then No.2 'Advanced Setting'.

3. Clicking 'Load No.1 and then enter the new TPH resistance value in 'Resistance' No.2, finally click 'SAVE' No.3.

If you find a wrinkle on the printed card as shown below, you need to adjust the print intensity by navigating to Settings → Control Tab → Advanced Settings → Intensity Level.

Here is how to do it:

1. Open driver and click Advance Setting.

2. When the warning pop-up appears, click OK.

3. Click the 'Load'

4. In Intensity, you can adjust the darkness of each panel. 

In this case, you must decrease the setting value.

If your printer shows error 42, go to: Settings → Control Tab → Advanced Settings → Ribbon Sensor Value to solve the problem.

Here is how to fix it:

STEP 1

1. Right click on 'Card Printer' on No.1, and click on 'Printing Preferences' on No.2.

2. Click 'Control' and then 'Advanced Setting'.

★★★Remove the ribbon from the printer before the next step.★★★

3. Click 'Load' and then 'Get'.

 

 - Check STEP 1 above and test it.

- If an error occurs afterwards, proceed to check STEP 2 and STEP 3.

 

STEP 2

1. Press the part 1 shown in the photo to raise the TPH module in the direction of the arrow.

2. Slide No.1 'flash sensor' in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

3. After removing the No.1 cable shown in the photo, install the cable with a new light sensor.

4. After mounting the flash sensor in the 1st and 2nd positions, press the part marked 3 and install it in the direction of the arrow.

 

STEP 3

1. Slide No.1 'light-receiving sensor' in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

2. After removing the marked No.1 cable, install the cable with a new detect sensor.

3. Mount the light-receiving sensor in positions 1 and 2.

1. Use tape to reconnect the torn ribbon, reinstall it into the printer, then press the Ribbon Set button to wind past the damaged section.

 

 

2. Ensure that the intensity of each panels, printing position of the card is within the limitation as these settings can lead to ribbon tears during printing.
